Free music notation software - MuseScore

A hang-out for musicians in general -- guitards, drummers, basstards, ivory pickers, fiddle sawers, and more. Discuss your passion, post some pics, or just banter about the biz. Maybe even stray a little off topic at times, but nothing too over the top. Stop in, have a cup of coffee, and say what's on your mind!!

Free music notation software - MuseScore

Hey all -- I found this software just this past weekend. It looks promising -- it's free and it's available on several platforms. http://musescore.org/

There are some annoyances, though. For example, I imported a fugue I wrote as a MIDI file. I wanted to be able to select the notes of the second and third voices and automatically convert them to 2nd and third voices/layers on the page, but I'm not sure it's actually possible to do this....

Hi all,

This has actually been included in the disk image for all the laptops currently being given to year 9 and year 10 students in state government schools in NSW, about 120 000 of them.

There is also another program called Canorus, included on these machines.

You might also try Musette.

And for your kids to learn a little notation, maybe Note Attack

The individual urls are:
So what's a bandcoach - a bus that carries a band?
Nah, instead of teaching band, I coach it, sort of like a football coach!
